Blog/Styled by/Styled By: Keeping It Simple With Emily Boffeli

Styled By: Keeping It Simple With Emily Boffeli

By Karina Ananenkova

Emily Boffeli is an art director, designer, and content creator living in Los Angeles. She works as a Senior Graphic Designer and Content Strategist at MATE the Label.

She has an artistic soul and she is clearly expressing it in her style and on her social media. Once I stumbled on her Instagram account, I let out a sigh of a pleasing “Ahhhhhh”. Her feed is eye-catching and it is definitely a place to get lost for a while. Filled with neutral and soft color schemes, crisp and minimalist images that capture style, quotes, interior, jewelry, and beauty products.

When it comes to style, her ability to look chic, and simple is, in fact, the reason why we are inspired by her. You can catch her in a flowy floral dress paired with white sneakers, a basic shirt tucked in denim jeans with mid-heel sandals and a plaid skirt-suit set. We are here to share our chat we had with the lovely Emily about her style and more.

Describe yourself in 5 words: Artistic, minimalist, outgoing, adventurous and ambitious

How would you describe your personal style? My personal style is minimal and laid back, but I like to keep up with trends, so I tend to experiment!

What does your daily uniform look like? Well right now, because I’m working from home, I’ve been wearing a lot of cozy thermals and over-sized tees and sweatshirts. Normally, my daily uniform is a good pair of denim paired with a basic tee and an oversized blazer or denim jacket. I usually throw on some sneakers or slides.

Who is your style icon? I find a lot of inspiration on Instagram but if I had to narrow it down, I would say Lucy Haley and Emma Roberts. Their style is edgy and cool without trying too hard, and they know how to rock basic looks.

Do you feel as though your aesthetic has changed? If so, how? As I’ve gotten older, I’ve embraced more conservative dressing. I tend to wear elevated basics that easily mix and match with other more exciting pieces from my wardrobe.

What do you wear when you want to feel empowered? Heels! I feel important when I wear heels. They command attention and power and generally make me feel really empowered.

How have you been finding balance during this crazy year? Working out during quarantine has been huge for me. It’s been a great mental break from work and the monotony of everything. It’s so important to sweat and get your body moving. Going for a walk or run every day has been so great for my mental health and overall well-being!

What does being a modern woman mean to you? To me, being a modern woman means doing what you want and not letting anyone stand in your way.

Favorite piece from the Deborah Henning Collection? I’m obsessed with the “Are We There Yet” jacket. I love the fit and design. I can see myself wearing the jacket throughout the year with dresses, jeans, anything really! I love that it’s unisex too.

What advice would you give to your younger self? Invest in clothes that will actually last instead of shopping at fast-fashion retailers! I quickly outgrew so many of the clothes I bought when I was younger so now I focus on only buying items that I can see myself wearing for years to come.

We adore Emily’s style and loved having her as our first Styled-By Muse!
